Delete your account and data
You can permanently delete your Appearance account and all your data at any time. Deletion cannot be undone.
Tip: before deleting, you can save a copy of your entries under Settings → Privacy → Export my data (a PDF and a complete JSON file).
In the app (recommended)
Open Appearance and go to Settings.
Scroll down to Account and tap Delete account.
Confirm and sign in again with Apple or Google when asked. This protects your account from being deleted by someone else.
Your account and data are deleted right away. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account.
If you can’t access the app
Email appearancefb@gmail.com with the subject “Delete account”. Please send it from the email address linked to your Appearance account and include:
the email address of your Appearance account,
how you signed in (Apple, Google or email and password),
a short statement that you want your account and all data permanently deleted.
If you used Sign in with Apple with “Hide My Email”, please mention this. We may then ask you to confirm ownership in another way. We will confirm by email once deletion is complete, usually within a few days and at the latest within one month.
What gets deleted
your account and sign-in data (user ID, email address, name or nickname),
all your content: gratitude entries and moods, thoughts and voice recordings, moments and photos, vision boards, answers, affirmations, letters to your future self, evening check-ins,
your progress in all journeys, your calendar and recaps,
your settings and reminders, push notification tokens,
your usage statistics and any feedback you sent from the app.
Data stored on your device (cache, widgets) is removed when the app signs you out after deletion, or when you uninstall the app.
What may be kept for a limited time
Backups: technical backups may contain encrypted copies for up to 30 days before they are overwritten.
Anonymous statistics: totals that cannot be linked back to you (for example the number of app launches on a given day) may be kept.
Legal obligations: data we are legally required to keep is stored only for the required period and then deleted.
